What is deFarm’s layers?

Think of deFarm as a big, innovative farm. This farm is divided into two main sections. The first section is the Social Layer, which is like the public area of the farm - think of it as a mix of a playground and a farmer's market. Here, people come to hang out, buy fresh produce, and enjoy various activities. It's designed to be user-friendly, so even if someone is new to a farm, they can easily have fun and find their way around.

Beneath this area, there's a critical part called the On-chain Layer. Imagine this as the farm's control center, hidden underground. It's like a complex network of roots and machinery that keeps the farm running smoothly. This layer includes all the technology and systems that manage the farm's operations, ensuring everything is secure and functions well. Visitors enjoying the Social Layer don't need to worry about these technical details - they're there to have a good time on the surface.
What's interesting about deFarm is the way these two layers can be updated or modified separately. For instance, if the farm wants to introduce new games or stalls in the Social Layer, they can do so without affecting the On-chain Layer. Similarly, if they need to upgrade the technology or systems in the On-chain Layer, they can do it without disrupting the fun and activities happening above. This design keeps deFarm exciting and efficient, offering a great experience in both the Social Layer and the On-chain Layer.

Why using this structure?

deFarm's architectural choice of placing the Social Layer atop the On-chain Layer serves as a strategic blueprint to balance user-friendly interaction with the robust, secure infrastructure inherent in blockchain. The Social Layer, being the user interface, is tailored to simplify the platform's interaction, masking the complex technological underpinnings and offering a more accessible and less daunting user experience. This design is particularly user-centric as it makes the transition to blockchain-based platforms less intimidating for users, especially those new to the blockchain and DeFi space.
Conversely, the On-chain Layer, which includes the On-chain Asset Management Platform, Liquidity Layer, and operates on a Layer 2 network, is pivotal for upholding the core blockchain principles of transparency, security, and decentralized asset management. This layer manages smart contracts and on-chain transactions, ensuring a secure and transparent environment for fund management and investment activities.
Moreover, this architecture epitomizes a modular design, which is essential for future scalability and adaptability. It allows for independent upgrades and innovations on both layers, ensuring that deFarm remains at the state of the art in both layers. This design not only fosters a conducive environment for continuous innovation but also positions deFarm as a progressive platform capable of evolving, thereby ensuring its long-term success in our industry.

Technical Layer

Tech-stack.png
Underneath the Social Layer is the Technical Layer where the magic happens. This layer consists of a heavy load of smart contracts and coding to protect the Farms from the prying eyes of bad actors and to make sure that everything works perfectly. The Farm is essentially a DeFi Vault, where users' assets get locked into the smart contracts.
The Farm is non-custody, which means the assets still belong to the owner. Farm Managers only have the right to direct the actions of the Farm through our smart contracts. Different from the majority of current DeFi Vault projects, with deFarm, Managers will navigate through our DEXes and Perpetual DEXes partners to search for profits, rather than other types of DeFi action such as Yield Farming, Staking, Lending, etc. deFarm focuses on trading on short-term and mid-term only.

Liquidity Layer

The Liquidity Layer will come from our perpetual DEX partners. We need them to provide the necessary liquidity and technical support for our Farms. The trading pairs that Farm Managers are able to trade will be limited as the Liquidity partners.

Infrastructure Layer

The final layer within our structure will be the Infrastructure Layer, the blockchains on which we will base our codes. In the first phase of development, we are EVMs compatible and will initiate our dApp on Blast L2. In the future, we are open to being a Chain-Agnostic protocol and will support other chains and languages if possible.
